Read the workflow as a list
- Availability rulesHours, services, buffers, rooms and provider constraints define what can actually be booked.
- Booking requestThe request carries service duration, provider, client details and the chosen slot.
- Deposit checkDeposit, waiver and cancellation rules are shown before the appointment can be confirmed.
- Conflict engineCalendar sources and availability rules are checked together; a conflict is surfaced instead of silently accepted.
- Confirm appointmentClient and provider receive the same confirmed status and next-step information.
- Calendar syncThe confirmed booking is synchronized with a visible source and remains exportable.
- Review conflictA staff member sees the clashing source, rule and possible resolution before overriding anything.
Appointment booking
Protect real availability, deposits, and client context.
Each app starts with a workflow customers already pay for and repeatedly describe as fragile. The live product boundary is deliberately narrow enough to validate before expanding.
Define hard availability
Working hours, services, buffers and provider constraints stay explicit.
Hold the appointment
Deposits and booking rules are visible before the slot is confirmed.
Resolve conflicts
Sync and availability exceptions go to a clear queue instead of silently double-booking.
Keep the relationship
Client history and exports remain portable without marketplace lock-in.
Complaint-first product design
Built from repeated failure patterns.
Counts come from one-to-three-star US Apple App Store reviews collected on 2026-07-30. Themes may overlap; app spread matters because a problem repeated across competitors is harder to dismiss as one bad release.

Clear answers
Before you raise your hand.
Is Slotstead available now?
Yes. A limited founding-pilot PWA is live at /app/ with providers, availability rules, conflict-safe bookings, client confirmation and CSV export. It is not yet a broad generally available service.
Does it replace my salon platform?
The first scope is narrower: stable booking, deposits, conflict handling and migration. It is designed to coexist before it replaces anything.
Can it stop every double booking?
No system can promise that. The design goal is to enforce declared constraints and surface sync or override conflicts before they become silent failures.
What does the calendar-conflict audit cost?
The initial audit is free and is used to validate the workflow, not to sell a fake trial.
